Canada News Releases

As quantum technologies transition from laboratory research to mission-critical applications, the demand for engineers with deep quantum expertise is expanding exponentially. To address this need, Lockheed Martin and Xanadu have announced a strategic partnership to expand Lockheed Martin’s Quantum Talent Pipeline (QTP) program.
QTP will incorporate Xanadu’s PennyLane quantum programming stack, offering participants interactive tutorials, hands on coding exercises and structured learning paths. Participants—spanning mechanical engineering to computer science—will gain practical quantum skills for aerospace, defense and advanced engineering projects. Xanadu will also deliver workshops on quantum algorithms, programming and realworld applications, and provide access to its simulators and hardware.
“Integrating PennyLane into our training bridges the gap between domain expertise and quantum advantage,” said Dr. Christian Weedbrook, Xanadu CEO. “Lockheed Martin’s QTP is a model for building quantum readiness from within.”
"Quantum computing will be central to solving some of the most complex challenges in aerospace and national security," said Dani Couger, Quantum Technologies Lead for Lockheed Martin. "By providing our engineers with practical quantum skills through programs like the Quantum Talent Pipeline, supported by Xanadu's PennyLane resources, we are positioning Lockheed Martin to lead in the adoption of nextgeneration computing technologies."
Together, Xanadu and Lockheed Martin are building the foundation of a quantum-ready workforce prepared to tackle the most demanding challenges in aerospace, defense, and beyond.
