Lockheed Martin partners with RaceRocks to develop adaptive learning capabilities
Funding from Lockheed Martin over the next three years will ensure trainees have the right experience to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of force generation.

Victoria, British Colombia – Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) announced today it is partnering with RaceRocks, an Indigenous, women-owned training and software company based on Canada’s West Coast, to create modernized training solutions.

This $1.6 million CAD contract will support the development of adaptive learning capabilities over the next three years, revolutionizing military training by ensuring that only the required training is delivered at the point and time of need. This will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of force generation across Canada.

Based in Victoria B.C., RaceRocks has a decade-long history of delivering quality immersive training products and decision-making tools for aerospace and defence clients. RaceRocks operates as a remote-first organization with staff across Canada, honouring all First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples and their valuable contributions to this land.

Through its Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) obligations, Lockheed Martin Canada is partnering with RaceRocks to develop the adaptive learning engine. The project will build out Lockheed's total learning architecture (MENTOR) and contribute to the growth of RaceRocks' Adenine platform—a multi-tenant, total learning enclave focused on delivering individualized, immersive learning experiences.

More broadly, this initiative will enhance research and development efforts in the Canadian aerospace and defence industry, advancing technology solutions for training, including immersive simulations, AI-driven adaptive learning tools, and innovative training and learning systems.

The partnership will also create opportunities for workforce development, including new jobs, internships, and apprenticeships in areas like training design, technology development, and business support.

“RaceRocks and Lockheed Martin Canada will provide the best solutions for the training assessor and the student. As a former Canadian Armed Forces warfare officer and head of Tactics and Training, I recognize the requirement for persistent, objective student assessment is overdue,” said Glenn Copeland, General Manager, Lockheed Martin Canada Rotary and Mission Systems. “To ensure deployment readiness, the trainer and the trainee need tools that deliver the most comprehensive performance-based training. RaceRocks will provide Lockheed Martin Canada’s MENTOR solution the ability to adapt to student needs, reducing training time while increasing training outcomes.”
